이케아 배송 기간I had to buy an artificial turf and a set of folding tables to put on the veranda. I saw it at an IKEA store and tried to order it online, but I guess I thought of IKEA as a typical shopping mall in Korea. I learned about an unexpected side of IKEA, so I’m posting this to share with those who are considering purchasing IKEA.
1. IKEA furniture costs 59,000 won for shipping (5,000 won for non-furniture items) and 15,000 won for store pick-up!
Unlike other items, furniture has a high shipping cost. Still, I didn’t know that the shipping cost for a furniture that costs 52,900 won would be 59,000 won. (The navel is bigger than the stomach.)
I can’t go to the stores in Gwangmyeong, Goyang, or Giheung again. I just remembered that there was a pop-up store in Seongsu-dong, not far from my house. If there is no stock in Seongsu-dong, Cheonho Hyundai Department Store is also said to have IKEA, so why not go to Cheonho-dong? While doing it, I also roll my hair well! I thought. (This haircut didn’t work.)
2. It is not easy to talk to a counselor at the IKEA call center, chatbots do not understand the language, and emails are only available for business proposals.
I called Seongsu-dong pop-up store to see if it was in stock, but it was impossible to call a counselor even though I tried pressing several ARS numbers. Since calls are not possible, try chatting with the chatbot. But I can’t hear you at all. (If this is the case, I don’t know why the chatbot function was created.) I tried to write an e-mail, but the e-mail is only for business proposals! really lol It is really different from the CS of Korean companies. (The temperature difference between the 365-day refund system attached to the store is severe.)
3. IKEA Cheonho and Sindorim Planning Studio cannot be purchased. (Seongsu Pop-up Studio can be purchased only if it is in stock)
At this point, I thought I should check something out and visit. When I checked the IKEA website, I found that it is not possible to purchase at the planning studio, only online purchases! The Seongsu pop-up store was created to compensate for this, but it is said that only items in stock can be purchased. However, there is no way to check inventory. (Only stores in Goyang, Gwangmyeong, Giheung, and Busan can check inventory on the website.)
Oh, and consulting at the planning studio costs 100,000 won per space. Hanssem just did it… It’s really a company with a very different culture from our country.
4. Online pick-up requires the purchaser’s ID and invoice.
I thought of asking my brother who lives closer to the store than us to pick it up online. (Online pick-up is 15,000 won, so it is cheaper than shipping cost of 59,000 won.) But to pick up online, you have to have the buyer’s ID. I’m going to meet you to give you an ID, so I just go to the store… It’s important for the buyer to take the pickup, but it’s something you can ask someone else to ask for, but I think it’s a bit harsh to require the buyer’s ID.
5. I found out why there are sellers of IKEA goods. The target is people who feel the burden of public home shipping costs…
If you do a search, you will find shopping malls that sell IKEA furniture in Naver Store or Open Market. There is also an official homepage, but I thought about how the shopping mall would be operated, but the target was people like me who are burdened with the shipping cost of the public homepage. Even furniture prices and shipping costs are cheaper at shopping malls. (However, the artificial turf cost more than the official website due to the shipping cost per box.) In the end, I decided to buy the furniture from the Internet shopping mall that sells IKEA products, and the artificial turf from the IKEA website!
6. Pitfalls of ordering IKEA online. The delivery date is the date the delivery starts, not the date the customer receives it.
After many twists and turns, I decided to purchase only artificial turf and cushions from the official IKEA website. There is a designation of the delivery date, so of course I thought it was the day I received it, so I chose it. Holy crap… It’s really a business position, not a customer position… You can’t even edit the delivery date.
The delivery date was the departure date.
7. I canceled 10 minutes after payment because the delivery date couldn’t be modified, but 5 days later, I still can’t get a refund.
Since the delivery date cannot be modified, the only option is to change the delivery date and reorder after canceling. Even though I canceled about 10 minutes after payment, it takes a long time to get a refund. They say that they can’t help it because PG company is also in the middle, but it’s really not easy to order from IKEA.
