There are three types of bonuses that civil servants can receive. Daewoo Civil Service Allowance / Regular Attendance Allowance (Additional Payment for Regular Attendance Allowance) / Performance Bonus. We looked at performance bonuses in the last post. In this post, I would like to look at the regular attendance allowance (additional payment for regular attendance allowance) among the three types of public servant bonuses. Since all teachers (elementary school teachers, middle school teachers) are included in public officials, teacher attendance allowances are calculated in the same way as government officials’ attendance allowances. 공무원 정근수당
1. Number of times of regular attendance allowance + payment period + target of payment 좋은뉴스
The frequency of payment of regular attendance allowance for public officials is twice a year. The specific payment period is paid in January and July, and the regular attendance allowance is paid only to public officials and teachers who hold the status of public officials and receive salaries on January 1 and July 1, which are the base dates for payment. Here, there is an important condition for those eligible for payment. In the case of the regular attendance allowance paid in January, public officials who have been paid a salary for more than one month during the period from July 1 to December 31 of the previous year (part of the salary is paid) (including civil servants). Similarly, the regular attendance allowance paid in July is paid to public officials who have been paid salaries for more than one month during the period from January 1 to June 30 of the relevant year (including public officials who have been paid part of their salaries).
2. Amount paid for regular attendance
Depending on the length of service as a public servant or teacher, the regular attendance allowance varies. The formula for calculating the amount of regular attendance allowance for each period is as follows:

For example, if you have worked for all 6 months from the base date of the regular attendance allowance, you can receive 100% of the total attendance allowance. If you have worked for 1 month, you can receive 1/6 of the amount of the regular attendance allowance, and if you have worked for 3 months, you can receive 1/2 of the amount of the regular attendance allowance.
If so, what is the specific amount of the regular attendance allowance? In fact, it depends on the pay scale.
How much is the regular duty allowance for civil servants (elementary school teacher, middle school teacher, soldier)
For public servants or teachers who have worked for less than one year, regular attendance allowance is not paid. 5% of the monthly salary for those who worked for 1 year or more and less than 2 years, and 10% for those who worked for 2 years or more and less than 3 years. In other words, the amount of regular attendance allowance is different depending on the salary level. And it depends on your years of service. Public servants and teachers who have worked for more than 10 years can receive 50% of their monthly salary, so if you combine the regular attendance allowances that you receive in two installments, 50% + 50% can be said to be a monthly basic salary.
The monthly salary mentioned above refers to the monthly salary on January 1st or July 1st salary table. If you look up your salary statement, you can understand that the basic salary is the monthly salary.

3. Specific examples
For example, if you are a teacher who has worked for 1 year or more but less than 2 years and has a monthly salary of 2 million won, your regular attendance allowance is 200 × 0.05 = 100,000 won. If you worked for all 6 months before January 1st or July 1st, which is the payment standard date, you can receive 100,000 won as it is, and if you worked for only 3 months, you can receive only half of 50,000 won.
Or, if you are a public servant with more than 15 years of service and a monthly salary of 4 million won, your regular attendance allowance is 400 × 0.5 = 2 million won. Similarly, you can receive the amount of regular attendance allowance according to the ratio of the working period based on the base date of the regular attendance allowance payment.
The base date of what is called service years here is based on the base date of the regular attendance allowance payment. For example, if you were appointed on March 1, 2019, you will not be entitled to regular attendance allowance on January 1, 2020. Because the service period is less than 1 year. On the other hand, you can receive the regular attendance allowance as of July 1, 2020. Because it has been more than 1 year of service. However, as mentioned above, the regular attendance allowance is paid only to public officials who hold the status of public servants on the day of July 1 and who have received any salary during the preceding six months.
4. Additional dues for regular attendance allowance
Lastly, let’s take a look at the surcharge per regular duty allowance. The additional payment for regular attendance allowance is different from the regular attendance allowance, and is paid monthly. The payment amount and payment criteria are as follows.

The additional amount for regular attendance allowance for all public officials, including teachers, excluding soldiers, is as shown on the left in the table above. Additional pay for regular attendance is not paid until the number of years of service is less than 5 years, and it is paid starting with at least 5 years of service. The amount goes up every time you have worked for 7 years or more, 10 years or more, 15 years or more, or 20 years or more. If you look at the remarks, there is an additional surcharge, and it is said that 10,000 won will be added and paid to those who have worked for more than 20 years and less than 25 years. If so, the monthly additional payment for regular attendance allowance for public servants with more than 20 years of service will be 110,000 won. And since it was said that those who have worked for 25 years or more would be paid with an additional 30,000 won, the additional amount per regular attendance allowance would be 130,000 won.
For soldiers, the criteria are similar. However, the difference is that for those who have worked for more than 5 years and less than 7 years, the additional charge is KRW 40,000, and for those who have worked for less than 5 years, regular attendance allowance is paid.
