쿠팡플레이 드라마Coupang Play series ‘Boys’ Generation’ won the Best Male Actor Award and the Best Male and Female Newcomer Award at the ‘2024 Korea Drama Awards’, earning the honor of winning 7 awards this year.
The 2024 Korea Drama Awards, held at the Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Center on Saturday the 12th, is the largest domestic drama awards ceremony that comprehensively evaluates terrestrial, cable, general programming channel, and OTT dramas from the past year. This is the 15th year of the awards ceremony that honors the excellence of representative K-content and artists expanding overseas.
Coupang Play series ‘Boys’ Generation’ proved itself to be the best series in name and reality by winning the Best Actor Award (Im Si-wan) and the Best Newcomer Award (Lee Si-woo and Kang Hye-won) at this awards ceremony. Previously, ‘Boys’ Generation’ was recognized for its excellence by winning ▲3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards ‘Best Actor Award (Im Si-wan)’ ▲2024 Content Asia Awards ‘TV Series Director Award Silver Award’ ▲2024 Marie Claire Asia Star Awards ‘Beyond Cinema Award (Im Si-wan)’ ▲2024 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards (ACA & G.OTT) ‘Best OTT Original Award’. Im Si-wan said in his acceptance speech at the 2024 Korea Drama Awards, “I am truly honored to have received such a grand award. It was thanks to everyone’s great support for ‘Boys’ Generation that I was able to receive this award. I think the source of that support is the hard work of the staff, including the director, and the new actors.” Lee Si-woo and Kang Hye-won, who won the Rookie of the Year award, drew attention for their fresh chemistry and delightful acting synergy while drawing a love triangle with Im Si-wan in ‘Boys’. Lee Si-woo showed off his strong presence as soon as he appeared as the legendary fighting champion ‘Asan Baekho’, and Kang Hye-won is said to have rewritten the genealogy of the nation’s first love by perfectly digesting the character of ‘Sophie Marceau’ in Buyeo.
With the successive awards of ‘Boys’, Coupang Play is demonstrating its solid position in the original series sector.
