Every time I look at KakaoTalk without knowing at some point, there are too many advertisements, too many, too many jobs, too many fishermen, so it’s not once or twice that I clicked the advertisement instead of the chat window. There were many cases where it was uncomfortable and stressful in many ways, but I will tell you how to block KakaoTalk ads and how to opt out of receiving advertising messages.
KakaoTalk advertisements may obviously be advertising in a good way for me algorithmically, but from some time ago, advertisements appeared at the top of the chat room and I thought it was a chat window and clicked it often.

1. First, you need to open notepad and run it with administrator privileges. Why do you turn on notepad when you need to block ads? Let’s keep going.
2. Launch notepad, click [File] – [Open] in notepad, then select windows/system32 /drviers/etc > all file settings > “hosts” file.
If you go to etc at first, there is no file, but you have to change the file name next to all files to see the hosts file. Now select open host file.
3. Scroll down the contents of hosts and enter “127.0.0.1 display.ad.daum.net” at the very end. Copy and paste it to the location shown in the picture below. If you have entered the relevant information as below, save it.
4. Then there will be trial and error. When you click Save, it is not saved right away, and Alak automatically cancels the change to protect the host file. Then go to pills and click on settings. Then, in Scan – Real-time monitoring – Host file protection, change it to off as shown in the picture below, then click Apply – OK button.
After that, if you save again, the ahnlab block will appear again as shown in the picture below, and if you click Yes, it will be restored again, so if you click “No” unconditionally, the information you want will be saved.
That’s it. As shown below, only kakao business banners appear, and now no ads appear.
I’ve summarized how to block banner ads with KakaoTalk PC. It can be a bit cumbersome, but it’s convenient once you set it up, so please take the time to remove it.
Let’s talk about how to block a channel in KakaoTalk Ad Blocking. Channel ads are also coming up from time to time without knowing. Advertisements are coming up as many people add friends to the channel for event and coupon purposes. Shall we block the channel right away?
1. In KakaoTalk, go to your friends list and click a channel. I have over 300 channels without my knowledge.
2. Click the channel you want to block, and in the upper right corner, there is a CH+ button. Click the button and you will be asked if you want to block the channel, just click block and the channel will be unsubscribed automatically.
And on mobile, KakaoTalk banner ads appear at the top. This banner advertisement, too, cannot be done in KakaoTalk itself, and if you enable Android Settings – Google Selection – Ads – Ads Customization Opt Out, the KakaoTalk banner will disappear.
However, with Android updates, the current Ads Personalization opt-out has been removed, and instead has a Delete Advertising ID button. Click Delete Advertising ID.
For those who are updating One UI 5.1, the Delete Advertising ID button is activated, and if you have not updated, you can select Disable Advertising Customization
Then there are things you need to do. Go back to Settings, click Applications, then scroll to select Storage. (Before that, you should select KakaoTalk in the application, right?) Then, click Delete Cache at the bottom of the storage space.
If you delete the data, the contents of the conversation itself will be lost in the KakaoTalk chat room, so please be careful when deleting the cache.
How about this? If you enter the KakaoTalk chat room and check the ads, you can see that the banner ads before and after the ads have been deleted. Simple, right?
