By default, only the capture, space, and side panel buttons are displayed when accessing a website written in Korean on Naver Whale.
However, when accessing a site in a language other than English, Chinese, or Japanese, the flag-shaped icon of the country using that language is displayed next to the address bar.
When you click the flag icon, it is automatically translated into Korean. When the translation is complete, the flag displayed on the icon changes to Taegeukgi.
STEP 02. Translate the text in the image
However, as with other browsers, only text is translated by default, and text within images is not translated.
If you want to translate the text written in the image, right-click and click [Translate Text in Image] from the context menu.
The mouse cursor changes to “+” along with the pop-up window “Select an area with text”. Click the starting point of the text area on the image that needs translation.
Hold down the mouse button and select all of the text in the image from where it starts to where it ends, then release the button.
If you find it difficult to translate because there are many product description pages written in images rather than text when you buy direct from Chinese sites such as Ali and Taobao, please use “Translate the text in the image” to easily check the translated content.
However, due to the nature of the context menu displayed by clicking the right mouse button, if the site you accessed prohibits the use of the right mouse button, you will not be able to use the corresponding function. In this case, you can use it like this:
On sites that prohibit the use of the right mouse button, the context menu cannot be opened and the text in the image cannot be translated.
Select the image with the mouse and drag & drop it to the address bar.
In the newly opened window, you can see that the right mouse button works normally.
You can use the “Translate text in image” function to select and translate an area with text in an image.
The ability to instantly translate the text in the image on the screen you are currently viewing in the browser without any additional tools is a feature that allows the seller to look at the product detail screen beautifully decorated with images when making an overseas direct purchase and see the text inserted in it. Really convenient.
