“Samsung Pay” is available only to Galaxy smartphone users.
The Samsung Pay app is a smart pay app that is used by many people regardless of gender and age when making card payments. Since the iPhone has not yet become Smart Pay, there are probably many people who continue to use Samsung smartphones because they do not want to lose Samsung Pay.
As you all know, the Samsung Pay app is such a convenient app that allows you to make payments just by holding your smartphone to the card terminal when you make a payment, as long as you register the card in the app even if you don’t have a physical card. Did you know that you can also use the “Transportation Card” function with this Samsung Pay app?
If you use the Samsung Pay transportation card (T-money) function, you can use the card registered in Samsung Pay as a deferred transportation card (credit card) or a prepaid transportation card (credit or check card). In addition, you can use the transportation card function with mobile phone payment (small amount payment).
Of course, unlike general card payments, there is a 6% fee for using T-money when paying by mobile phone.
Even if you create and use a transportation card through Samsung Pay, you can use it the same as a physical T-money card. The most common places to use T-money are subways, buses, and taxis. Even with the Samsung Pay transportation card function, you can use it at affiliated locations without any problems.
First, launch the Samsung Pay app.
Then click “Add transportation card” in the menu.
Select which transportation card to add. Selectable transportation cards are T-money and Cashbee. For reference, I chose T-money.
Next, choose which payment method you would like to use. When using deferred payment, you can only use it with a credit card, and when using prepayment, you will be charged with a credit or debit card, and for mobile phone payments, you will be charged as a mobile phone micropayment.
Select the card to be used as a postpaid transportation card. You can use the card registered in the existing Samsung Pay app as it is. However, if you do not have a card registered to Samsung Pay, you must register it manually here.
If you have selected a card to use as a transportation card, you agree to the Mobile T-money terms and conditions and perform password or fingerprint authentication.
If you complete Samsung Pay identity verification, adding a transportation card is completed like this. The limit on the use of postpaid transportation cards is set at 50,000 won.
After adding the transportation card, you can use the transportation card function immediately, and the once/day limit is automatically reset every day.
Representative use of T-money.
Mobile T-money can be used on subways, buses, taxis, and express buses nationwide. (Excluding some cities and counties)
Mobile T-money card information that has been added can be checked through “Samsung Pay > Menu > T-money”.
How to use Samsung Pay Mobile T-money is very easy and simple.
Samsung Pay mobile T-money usage history can be checked through “Samsung Pay > Menu > T-money > Monthly Usage History”. Here, it is not possible to check the usage history of T-money in real time because it can be seen only after some time has passed.
If you want to check the usage history immediately after using Samsung Pay Mobile T-money, go to “More (upper right) > Recent usage history”. For reference, you can only search up to the latest 20 usage records stored in the SIM card.
