My parents received postal notifications instead, but it was difficult to properly keep track of the schedule. At that time, I didn’t even know there was an electronic notification, so I remember calling the Civil Defense every time I returned to Korea.
The entire 2024 Civil Defense Training Schedule can be checked on the ‘Civil Defense’ menu of the National Disaster Safety Portal. Civil defense training can be completed at a location other than the registered address. You can search the schedule in advance and apply for a change in training if you need to adjust the schedule.

Smart Civil Defense Electronic Notification refers to a service that sends civil defense training notices in the form of electronic documents (text messages, KakaoTalk, email) instead of paper. The existing paper notification method was sent by mail, so it took time to receive, and there was a risk of loss or damage. There was also the problem that it was difficult to protect the personal information of civil defense personnel.
Civil Defense Electronic Attendance
When attending civil defense training, if you download the ‘Civil Defense Electronic Attendance’ app in advance, you can take electronic attendance without the cumbersome entry and exit procedures. On the day of the training, civil defense personnel’s IDs are checked at the training location, and attendance is processed by scanning the QR code. When the training is completed, a certificate of completion will be issued.

If the civil defense notice has not arrived
Civil defense members can use the electronic notification service by registering their own mobile phone number in the civil defense member information management system.
If the civil defense notice has not arrived, you can call the Smart Civil Defense Call Center at 1522-7183 or apply for electronic notification through online inquiry on the civil defense website. The method of applying online will be explained in the next paragraph.

Click the ‘Contact Us’ button at the bottom of the site, and select ‘Other Inquiries’ as the ‘Inquiry Type’. Enter your personal information (region, name, date of birth, contact information, email, etc.).
Click the ‘Register’ button to complete the electronic notification application, and the processing result will be sent to the contact information you submitted.

After civil defense training, you can check and print the completion certificate at the Civil Defense Electronic Attendance Center or the Smart Civil Defense Training site.
The method for checking the completion certificate of civil defense cyber training (3rd year or more of civil defense) is as follows. You must watch all the cyber training videos and complete the last problem to complete the training. If your score is less than 70 points, solve the problems again and complete the training.
Access the Smart Civil Defense Training site.
Select a region from the ‘Completion Confirmation’ menu on the left.
Enter your personal information (name, mobile phone number, date of birth).
Select the ‘Completion Confirmation’ button, check the completion certificate, and print it. Here’s how to check the completion certificate for 1st and 2nd year civil defense personnel who have received group (mobilization) training.
Go to the Civil Defense Electronic Attendance Center website.
After logging in, click ‘Group Certification’ at the bottom of the screen.
Enter the 4-digit group certification number provided by the person in charge during civil defense training.
Check the completion certificate and print it.

Select your region.
Enter your name, date of birth, and mobile phone number, and click ‘Check Electronic Notification.’
Check the civil defense notice and select ‘Print’ by ‘right-clicking’ or ‘ctrl+p.’
