Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance emergency dispatch service available items and frequency
It depends on the insurance period.
– Insurance period of 1 year: 5 to 7 times (depending on the number of times the previous contract was used)
– Insurance period exceeds 3 months to less than 1 year: 3 times
– Insurance period less than 3 months: 2 times
Types of emergency dispatch services
1. Emergency towing service: A service that provides towing to a repair shop within a 10km range when driving is impossible due to an accident or breakdown. Customers are responsible for costs for distances exceeding 10km.
2. Emergency refueling service: When driving is impossible due to fuel exhaustion, emergency refueling is provided up to 3 liters twice during the insurance period and once per day. However, only gasoline and diesel are available, and if it exceeds 2 times, it will be replaced by emergency towing service. However, in some cases, fuel can be purchased and delivered upon request, and the cost is borne by the customer.
In the case of LPG vehicles, this service provides towing to a nearby charging station within a 10km range. Costs for distances exceeding 10km are borne by the customer.
3. Lock release service: A service that unlocks the driver’s seat when it is impossible to unlock it due to loss of keys, etc. However, unlocking the trunk lock is excluded.
Foreign cars and special locking devices may be excluded.
4. Battery charging service: Battery charging service is provided when the battery is discharged and driving is impossible.
5. Tire replacement service: If driving is impossible due to tire damage, a ‘replacement’ service is provided with the car’s spare tire.
6. Emergency rescue service: A service that provides rescue in cases where driving is impossible due to road departure or obstacles. In case of special rescue, additional costs will be charged.
What is special rescue?
① In case of rescue using a special rescue vehicle exceeding 2.5 tons
② When two or more special rescue vehicles are rescued
③ When recovering a foreign car or a domestic car with a capacity of 3,000cc or more
④ In case of rescue using separate rescue equipment such as a safety loader
⑤ If the time taken from starting the rescue operation to immediately connecting the tow hook exceeds 1 hour.
