What is the National Pension Refund?
National pension refund is the amount incurred due to double payment or mistaken payment of national pension insurance premiums, or retroactive loss of eligibility even though they were normally assessed and notified, and retroactive reduction and adjustment of assessment data. National pension refunds are paid within 3 to 5 business days after application. The period for receiving a refund is within 5 years, and after 5 years, the right to receive a lump sum payment expires, but if a reason for pension payment arises in the future, it will be paid as an annuity including the extinguished portion.

Precautions when applying for refund of national pension
●Refund application must be made within 5 years from the date of overpayment. If 5 years have passed, it is impossible to apply for a refund, so you should apply quickly if you are aware of overpayment.
●For application documents, you must prepare an application for refund of overpayment and documents proving the fact that overpayment has occurred (e.g. payment statement, remittance receipt, etc.). You will also need a copy of your ID and a copy of the bankbook of the account to receive the refund, or a document with the account number. If an agent applies, a copy of the agent’s ID and a power of attorney are also required.
